Terms of Service

1. Who I Am and Acceptance

The Cyril Experiment platform, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) are operated by George Pullen (“I,” “me,” or “my”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

The Service is a free, informal research experiment. I may change, suspend, or discontinue it at any time.

2. Experimental AI (Unfiltered) and Key Warnings

The Service provides access to an experimental conversational AI system (“Cyril”). This is not a finished product and it is not designed to be safe or reliable.

  • Unfiltered outputs: Cyril intentionally operates without content safety filters or guardrails.
  • Unpredictable behavior: Cyril adapts from conversations, so its behavior can change and may be unexpected.
  • No advice: Outputs are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, psychological, or otherwise).
  • No reliance: Do not rely on outputs without independent verification.

3. Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk

BY USING THIS SERVICE, YOU ARE VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN AN EXPERIMENTAL AI PROJECT. You acknowledge the risks of using an unfiltered, evolving system.

  • Voluntary participation: You can stop using the Service at any time.
  • Assumption of risk: You assume the risks (known and unknown) arising from using the Service.
  • Your wellbeing: If you feel distressed, stop using the Service and seek appropriate support.
  • No crisis use: Do not use the Service as a crisis resource.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

5. Accounts and Access

Access requires account registration through my authentication provider. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify me promptly of any unauthorized access

I may refuse access, suspend accounts, or terminate access at any time.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm any person or entity
  • Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or deliberately steer Cyril to generate harmful/illegal/defamatory content
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Share access credentials with third parties

7. Data Use and Training

The Service is an experimental research platform. Use of the Service requires that your conversation data is used for AI training and research.

  • Conversations and interaction data are retained indefinitely for research and training.
  • Data incorporated into trained models may not be fully removable from those models.

8. Intellectual Property

My Rights: The Service (including the software and models) is owned by me or my licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Your Content: You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant me a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it for operating and improving the Service and its AI systems.

AI Outputs: You may use outputs for personal, non-commercial purposes. I make no representations about the intellectual property status of AI-generated content.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits/data/use/goodwill, emotional distress, or losses arising from your reliance on AI outputs.

MY TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID ME (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify me for claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your content.

11. Changes and Termination

I may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice.

I may revise these Terms at any time. Changes are effective when posted. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

I may terminate or suspend your access immediately if you breach these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other agreements expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and me regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

BY USING THE SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS OF SERVICE, UNDERSTAND THEM, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THESE TERMS CONSTITUTE A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND GEORGE PULLEN.
